Machine Operator
MAU Workforce Solutions
This position is heavy machine operation creating parts for walk-in freezers. You will be working with hot metal and casting the material into the shape of a part or using a grinder to shape/polish the parts. Mechanical and die casting experience is a plus as you will also be responsible for minor mechanical maintenance and repair.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday with occasional Saturday's
Shifts:
1st- 5:00 AM - 5:00 PM or 6:00 AM - 4:30PM
2nd- 5:00 PM - 5:00 AM
Job Duties: Performs Operator's start up and safety checks as per work instructions. Operate and tend Die Cast Machine, Trim Press and Robot where available to cast quality Zinc castings per production requirements. Performs duties as required to keep the machine running such as touches, unfreezing the nozzle, adjusting the spray position and volume, die temperature setting as per process sheet etc. Unload cured, cast zinc parts from Die Cast Machine (this may require the hand loading of steel inserts to produce a part) or load parts in Trim Press to remove excess zinc from parts. Complete production reports as required by Management. Replenish all lubricants, operational fluids and/or gas charge as necessary for proper machine function as required on the operators check sheet. Set up to include die cast, trim die, nozzle and gooseneck, operate, and tend Die Cast Machine or Trim Press to cast quality Zinc castings per production requirements. Detects jams and malfunctions of equipment and make minor adjustments as necessary to achieve production and quality goals. Set up adjust spray unit. Adjust valves and dials of machines to regulate air pressure, die temperature, and shot speed, and to achieve cycle times and part quality as per Die cast process set up sheet Grind or deburr objects or parts as part of the polishing process.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit and talk or hear. Job requires the ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
