Women and minorities are under-represented in this job category and are encouraged to apply. *Job Duties:* Join the Helena Maintenance team as a Maintenance Worker 1, where you will primarily focus on maintenance tasks at area State Parks and Fishing Access Sites. This position will typically work a 40 hour week Monday- Friday during peak season (May 15-September 15) with hours tapering to 8-24 hours per week during the shoulder and winter seasons. However, flexibility exists to adapt work schedules to individual needs on a case-by-case basis. Evening, weekend, and/or holiday work could be required periodically. As a Maintenance Worker I, you will perform a variety of tasks, including mowing, string trimming, road and trail maintenance, assisting with seasonal system start-ups, latrine maintenance and cleaning, conducting pre-use equipment inspections, and providing general support to the Helena Maintenance team. The work is outdoors, and you will be exposed to all weather conditions throughout the year. As such, it is important that you are in good physical condition and capable of handling the physical demands of outdoor work, which may include lifting 30- 50 pounds regularly. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic outdoor environment and contribute to the maintenance and preservation of popular public recreation sites. If you enjoy physical work, being outdoors, and supporting recreational activities, this could be the ideal role for you. *Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:* In this role you will primarily work independently, without direct supervision, and will be expected to take initiative in completing task timely and accurately. You will be required to maintain a high standard of work, demonstrate ethical behavior when interacting with visitors and respect authority. You should have the following knowledge and skills: * Proficiency in using spreadsheets and other software to complete maintenance logs and personnel reports. * Working knowledge of general maintenance and construction methods, including painting, staining, building surface treatments, fence and sign repairs, and basic knowledge of noxious weeds. * Experience with landscaping tasks, such as mowing with commercial zero-tum mowers, operating gas-powered string trimmers, tree pruning, and general site care. * Ability to assist with weed control and maintenance of grounds, campgrounds, picnic areas, roads, trails, and parking areas. * Familiarity with the care, use, and operation of various tools and equipment, including commercial mowers, ATV/UTVs, and weed spraying equipment, along with routine equipment preventive maintenance. *Education & Experience*: The knowledge, skills, and abilities of this position are normally attained through a combination of education and experienceequivalent to a high school diploma or equivalency and one year of job-related experience. Other combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis. * Basic First Aid/CPR certification is required for this position.
