Manager, Contracts - Shanghai
**In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:** + Reviews, drafts and negotiates agreements and transaction documents in compliance with applicable policies and legal and ethical standards, without supervision, including in: + Responding, within established guidelines, to customers’ RFP/RFQs, vendor qualification documents and contractual requests; + Drafting and negotiating with customers, appropriate contractual language to reflect the business interests and policies of the parties; + Takes the Contracts Lead role on + Sophisticated international and multi-BU project contracts; + Sophisticated frame agreements (multi-BU & -WA); + Act as Global, World Area or BU Contracts Lead for Global Strategic Accounts; + May mentor and train Contracts Services personnel; + Collaborate with customers, members of the legal team and other Emerson collaborators to bring deals to closure; + Analyses business, financial, and legal risks; + Researches information on existing agreements and contractual programs, assisting with analysis and compiling data for reports; + Provides contract-related mentorship to Sales, Project Management and other customers; + Participates in the approval process to assist business owners in making informed decisions and secure appropriate approvals; + Develops and communicates creative solutions and mitigation strategies to key negotiation points; + Assists in the mentoring and training of Contracts Trainees and Contracts Negotiators. **Who You Are:** You promote high visibility of shared contributions to goals. Through our benefits, development opportunities, and an inclusive and safe work environment, we strive to build an organization our people are proud to represent. **For This Role, You Will Need:** + 10-12 years of work experience in a contracts-related role + Bachelor’s Degree in related field + Completion of IACCM Advanced Contract and Commercial Management (CCM) Practitioner and IACCM “Oil & Gas Contracting in Practice” strongly preferred + Strong Coaching & mentoring skills + Intermediate MS Office skills + Excellent oral and written English [and any other language, as required] language skills [insert other languages are an advantage, as required] + Excellent negotiation skills + Extensive knowledge of Contract law & principles + Occupational health and safety foresight. + Commercial provisions such as warranty, liquidated damages/penalties, payment and freight terms, documentary credits and bank guarantees/sureties **Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:** + Solution-finding, practical, with a strong eye for business, able to promptly provide clear inputs and mentorship and take reasonable risks + Self-motivated and keen on getting involved in and exposed to all kinds of legal matters and business areas **Our Culture & Commitment to You:** At Emerson, we prioritize a workplace where every employee is valued, respected, and empowered to grow.
