Compensation Range

Annual Salary: $154,500.00 - $184,000.00 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)

About This Job

The main purpose of this job is to lead, manage and motivate a team of Private Client Advisors who deliver comprehensive advice and customized wealth management solutions to our high-net worth clients and families.

Essential Functions

Lead, manage and motivate a team of Private Client Advisors to ensure excellence in service, growth and retention of our high- net worth client relationships

Foster a collaborative team environment with an open communication style consistent with the Commerce core values and culture

Effectively oversee team delivery of wealth management services and solutions consistent with Commerce Private Client Service Model

Coach and support team members to enhance their technical knowledge, relationship management skills and overall professional development and career objectives

Deliver comprehensive advice and customized wealth management solutions for high-net-worth clients and families

Effectively manage a portfolio of relationships comprised of complex fiduciary and investment management clients

Maintain a client centric focus and desire to exceed client expectations

Develop comprehensive plans with the client’s professional advisors and Commerce Trust internal partners

Collaborate proactively with internal partners to identify and service unique client needs while managing the overall client experience

Leverage the expertise of internal partners and expert resources to ensure integrated delivery of investment, fiduciary, tax, estate planning, insurance, lending, credit and banking services to meet the client’s goals and objectives

Develop plans for the expansion of relationships through the sale of investment management products and trust services

Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

Advanced knowledge of wealth management services, such as wealth transfer planning, taxation, estate planning and wealth management products and services acquired through work-related experience and continuing education

Strong leadership and coaching skills with proven ability to develop and lead strategic initiatives and implement organizational objectives

Demonstrated ability to expand revenue, assets and client base and support team to do the same through achievement of related goals

Long-term focus on development of high performing team and ability to take an innovative approach to support and solutions to core team and company goals

Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills

Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license and meet Commerce Bank’s driving record criteria; ongoing employment may be contingent upon meeting all driving requirements

Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and core values

Inquisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities

Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook  

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required

10+ years of experience in providing high level client service in a similar role with trust, wealth management and financial planning required

5+ years of direct leadership and supervisory experience required

Experience managing high net worth clients and their families with multi-generational relationships preferred

Demonstrated experience working with clients in a multi-generational environment both from an advisory and fiduciary perspective preferred

Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and/or Certified Trust Fiduciary Advisory (CTFA) designation preferred

The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable differentials (geographic, bilingual, or shift) that could be associated with the position or where it is filled. At Commerce, compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each situation. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay is $154,500 to $184,000 annually. This position will be eligible for additional compensation through performance-based incentive plan(s) that will correspond to meeting performance goals.
