The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Metro) is seeking a **Manager of Employee Communications** to lead corporate messaging efforts for more than 13,000 employees across the authority. This role is part of a talented team in the Office of Corporate Communications and Events dedicated to fostering meaningful relationships with employees from all walks of life. The Manager will serve as the Project Manager for all corporate messaging initiatives, driving engagement and ensuring clear, effective communication. If you're passionate about communication, value collaboration, and want to make a difference at Metro, we want to hear from you! **Minimum Qualifications** **Education** + Bachelor's degree in journalism, Communications, Business, Media or related fields of study **Experience** + Minimum ten (10) years working in fast paced internal communications environments applying corporate branding and messaging standards that demonstrate consistent, clear and timely content, to include a minimum of three years' experience managing and motivating team members effectively. **Certification/Licensure** N/A **Preferred** + Master's degree in journalism, Communications, Business, Media or related fields of study **Medical Group** Satisfactorily complete the medical examination for this position, if required. The incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of this position either with or without reasonable accommodations. **Summary** The Manager, Employee Communications Programs is accountable for overseeing multi-channel strategic employee communications. This includes, but is not limited to, communications channels such as metroweb homepage, several newsletters, podcast promotions, digital signage, and largescale annual events. This responsibility also manages the tracking and measurement of employee engagement and amplifying the GMs priority messages. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS** + Develops and implements a strategic plan for employee content to promote a broad spectrum of organizational messages and priorities that align with our mission, vision and culture. This is necessary to increase two-way employee engagement and deliver clear, consistent, timely, on brand messaging. + Manages the consistent flow of Multi-Channel Communications by establishing a cross functional production process to optimize channels and resources. Embeds listening mechanisms and the voice of the employee in communications. Oversee the tracking and measurement of employee engagement on all channels. Monitors and reports on key metrics to guide decisions and demonstrate impact. + Demonstrates exceptional writing, proofing and editing skills by reviewing and approving staff work products, exemplifying corporate level quality and accuracy within all multichannel communications. + Partners with senior management, Producer and agencies of record to develop internal annual campaigns and programs. This partnership strengthens the visual communication with employees and lifts engagement and credibility. Excellent judgement about the creative process, timing and priorities is required for success. + Directs and motivates team to produce engaging employee content to ensure internal communication messages are consistent across all mediums and with external communication messaging. + **OTHER FUNCTIONS** + Accurately maintains the Authority's Maintenance Management database. Enters work performance data, monitors work orders and backlog, assesses equipment performance trends, and predicts future maintenance requirements. **The essential duties listed are not intended to limit specific duties and responsibilities of any particular position.
