Job Description
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the design of new tooling, gauges, and fixtures to support new product releases and ensure quality control for mass production.
ResponsibilitiesDesign 3D models in CAD focusing on new product fixtures, gauges, and tooling for New Product Introductions (NPI).Construct and test the fixture/gauge/tooling by building prototypes and testing its performance to ensure it meets requirements.Assist with concept design, mechanical/manufacturing development, and product optimization strategies.Help lead in rolling out new manufacturing processes and validating manufacturability.Create work instructions and process control documents to be used by production.Create Bill of Materials (BOMs) to accurately plan and budget.Collaborate regularly with cross-functional departments (production, maintenance, quality) and customers.Essential Skills3+ years of manufacturing-related engineering experience.Experience designing gauges, fixtures, and/or tooling.Exposure to manufacturing capabilities including machining, fabrication, tooling, welding, brazing, heat-treating, or composites.Experience supporting new product releases and rolling out new manufacturing processes.Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD, particularly Solidworks.B.S or A.S in an engineering-related discipline.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in the aerospace industry supporting major OEMs of aircraft engines (e.g., GE, Rolls Royce, Pratt & Whitney).Experience working with supporting departments such as welding, brazing, quality, and machining (e.g., lathe).EDM experience.Work Environment
The work environment includes both office and machining manufacturing floor settings, with a 50/50 split. The position operates on a Monday-Friday, 1st shift schedule.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $90000.00/hr.
