Job Description
We are seeking a talented Manufacturing Engineer to conceptualize, design, develop, and enhance production processes through effective collaboration and leadership within a team of manufacturing engineers. This role involves serving as a primary technical interface for product development, supporting operations during high-pressure escalations, and contributing to the roadmap for increasing production capacity.
ResponsibilitiesConceptualize, design, develop, and improve assembly, integration, and test processes.Lead and collaborate with a team of manufacturing engineers.Serve as the primary technical interface to the development team for OISL products.Participate in design reviews, handle technical escalations, and engage in new product development.Support operations team as a problem-solving engineer, capable of synthesizing diverse technical perspectives.Contribute to capacity increase roadmap for production by defining, procuring, installing, and qualifying new rate-enabling equipment.Spend 50% of time on the shop floor, working with production teams to implement new processes, solve technical blockers, and conduct production development testing.Allocate 25% of time to independent development work, including data analysis, quality control measures, and capacity increase roadmaps.Dedicate 25% of time to meetings focused on design introductions, production process change management, and solution finding.Essential SkillsFamiliarity with Low-Rate Manufacturing Environments and New Product Introduction.Experience with Root Cause Analysis Techniques such as Fishbone, Fault Tree, and DMAIC.Capability in MRB, non-conformance, 8D analysis, and A3 analysis.Exposure to Space Flight Hardware Production or Medical Devices.Experience with mechatronic systems.Knowledge of Lean manufacturing practices and principles, including Six Sigma, 5S, and Kaizen.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Optical System Design, Free Space Optical Communication, or Fiber Optic Assembly.Proficiency with SAP or similar ERP software.Skill in using NX Unigraphics or similar CAD software.Competence in Industrial Analysis such as Motion Studies.Experience with Statistical Analysis Software like Minitab.Work Environment
The role requires onsite presence five days per week during core hours.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $78.00/hr.
