As part of the talented Manufacturing Engineering team, you will help us achieve our ambitious goals in Safety, Quality, Delivery and Productivity. Essential Functions: 

Process ownership of steel investment casting process for a combination of wax, shell and pouringDevelop new and refine existing equipment and processes to reduce scrap, rework and product costWork in tandem with supervisory staff to meet production requirementsIndependently manage a portfolio of projects to find and fix the root cause and part quality issuesPrepare and document work instructions to maintain ISO complianceUse Continuous Improvement tools and processes like DMAIC to improve the processesInvestigate, propose and manage large capital projectsAct as a liaison between design engineering, tool engineering and manufacturing personnelWork with a team to develop new processes for new products and using HPPD (High performance Product Development) process when applicableWork closely with vendors supplying wax, flours sands and other slurry ingredients and other suppliesAttend safety meetings and training programs and participates in plant safety programs as requiredWorks closely with all team members to ensure each task is completed in a safe and efficient mannerBecome the subject matter expert for a combination of waxing, shelling and pouring process and toolingUnderstand basic robotic moves and how to work with controls technicians to make improvements

Required Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field3-8 years experience process engineering in investment casting foundryStrong mechanical as well as “hands on” aptitudePassion for developing and executing best in class investment casting processesExcellent problem-solving skills and ability to independently manage and prioritize projectsDependable, self-motivated, and engaged learnerAbility to interact and communicate with different job functions and lead cross functional teamsThe ability to read and understand part and tooling prints and modify prints using CADAbility to communicate effectively verbally and written via shift notes and emails

Preferred Qualifications:

Programming experience with RoboticsProficient in MAGMA SoftAbility to understand and modify 3D modelsKnowledge and understanding of GD&TExposure to Microsoft products including Excel, Outlook and PowerPointFamiliarity with Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing methodologies

Working Conditions:

Ability to occasionally lift 35 lbs.Travel may be required for training and new equipment qualificationsPosition is located in a stainless steel foundry

The anticipated pay range for this position is $72,000 – $115,300 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job- related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.
