Job Title: Manufacturing Technician Job Description This is an exciting opportunity to join the Microbiology Division, where you will work on products that make a difference in a manufacturing setting. Operators play a crucial role in the manufacturing process of agars by loading products, checking volumes, ensuring quality, and more. Responsibilities + Efficiently and safely operate assigned machinery, perform simple maintenance, and report malfunctioning equipment immediately to a supervisor or lead. + Set up and adjust machines to run at different sizes. + Obtain correct materials for operation needs from the warehouse or staging area. + Organize production flow, ensure materials are available, estimate line progress, and schedule breaks corresponding to production time schedules safely. + Document work accurately, check for quality and compliance, monitor products for defects, and assist with the inventory process. + Accurately dispense required additives to media and perform techniques to achieve pH balance as needed, investigating and remedying possible production failures. + Follow all written procedures and report discrepancies to the area supervisor, performing all activities safely and wearing personal protective equipment as required. + Report property damage and/or safety hazards to the supervisor, human resources, safety specialist, or management immediately. + Complete production assignments timely and according to departmental schedules. + Sign off on DHRs in the proper places and fill in pertinent information according to SOPs. Essential Skills + Experience in manufacturing and production support + Familiarity with GMP practices + Ability to comprehend and communicate in English both written and verbally + Ability to perform basic math + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and push/pull up to 600 lb. wheeled kettles + Ability to stand for sustained periods, approximately 10 hours a day + Ability to see and distinguish colors Additional Skills & Qualifications + High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution + Willingness to train those with little relevant experience or a science AS or BS degree Work Environment The position operates in a laboratory/cleanroom environment on the 2nd shift from 2 PM to 10:30 PM.
