Materials Handler
Shift: 7:00 AM-3:30 PM

Hourly Rate: $22.10 an hour

SUMMARY: The Material Handler is responsible for working safely and efficiently on the production floor to deliver ingredients to the production line and take finished product to the warehouse.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Safety:

Adhere to all safety policies and proceduresMaintain a clean and organized production area to promote a safe work environmentUse proper lifting technique when handling waste bins, ingredient bags and heavy items Notify supervisor immediately if any unsafe or potentially hazardous conditions are discovered

Quality:

Demonstrate a strong understanding of good manufacturing practice (GMP) and cross contaminationMaintain and demonstrate a thorough understanding of processing specifications for varying products and materialsDemonstrate a thorough understanding of electronic inventory tracking system (SAP)Order/receive materials and perform lot code changesPerform safety and quality checks as neededPerform sanitation tasks to clean and sanitize all production equipment as necessary 

Production:

Deliver raw ingredients to the production floor accurately and in a timely mannerPerform other duties as assigned by supervisorFill in on other shifts when necessary and work Saturday on occasionTransport unwrapped pallets from production to wrapping machine for completion and labeling

Maintain a high level of personal responsibility and ownershipMaintain a strong commitment to teamwork and concern for othersMust be respectful of others and demonstrate professional work habitsReliable and able to work within a team in fast paced environmentTrain, assist and lead employees (new and current) for development in required operational skillsAble to adhere to all Conagra Brands policies and procedures

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three or more month’s related experience or other food production experience or manufacturing experienceMust have forklift experience and certificationMust be able to effectively use the English language, in verbal and written formMust be able to effectively communicate and interpret work instructions and safety rules using EnglishAbility to perform operations of weight, volume and length measurementAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions
