Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with over four years of experience for the design of multi-functional test equipment. You will guide projects from initial concept through to the release of final production drawings, supporting assembly, start-up, and commissioning efforts both onsite and at customer locations.
ResponsibilitiesDesign mounting adapters and utilize SolidWorks to create 3D CAD models and layout drawings for conceptual designs.Conduct feasibility studies and develop comprehensive designs for mechanical components, including stationary and portable enclosures, bases, support fixtures, mounting adapters, shafts, gears, hydraulic manifolds, and piping systems.Generate assembly drawings and component detail drawings for all fabricated and machined parts, considering material availability, manufacturing cost, and GD&T.Collaborate on custom designs tailored to customer requests, leveraging creativity and knowledge of manufacturability.Engage in a minimum workload of 6-12 months, with potential for longer duration based on demand.Essential SkillsMinimum of 4+ years experience in SolidWorks for design.Proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D designs.Expertise in GD&T.Proficiency in hydraulic and pneumatic systems, with the ability to read and understand hydraulic schematics.Experience in machine design, fixture, tooling, or assembly automation design.Additional Skills & QualificationsA degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.Experience in aerospace is a plus.Knowledge of CMM (Maintenance manuals) is advantageous.Work Environment
The role is based in an office and plant manufacturing environment, working closely with a team of five other engineers, including Electrical, Software, and Hydraulic engineers. The position requires independence and self-starting abilities. Work hours are Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 4 PM, with minimal travel of 5% or less. Initially, there is no hybrid opportunity, although flexibility may be offered based on individual performance.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
