Medical Assistant
Job Title: Medical Assistant Job Description The medical assistant will work with providers to triage and room patients, take vitals, and enter information into the EMR. The MA will see approximately 14-15 patients per day, working with pediatric patients (0-21 years old) who are accompanied by their parents. Responsibilities include performing blood pressures with a blood pressure cuff and finger sticks and heel sticks for babies. The ideal candidate must be passionate about working in the Pediatric Field. Responsibilities + Work with providers to triage and room patients. + Take vitals and enter information into the EMR. + Observe and report patient’s condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to provider. + Assist providers with management of patient allergies, medications, and history. + Prepare and maintain medical supplies and equipment. + Prepare patients for examination; verify patient by name, age, and date of birth. + Review electronic health record for immunizations and labs. + Perform and record vital signs in EHR. + Instruct patients in basic testing requirements and medical procedures. + Clean exam and treatment rooms after patient encounters. Essential Skills + Medical assistant training/certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA). + Experience with vitals, vaccines, and EMR systems. + Strong customer service skills. + Active CPR certification. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Pediatrics experience is highly preferred. + High school diploma. + Experience in family medicine, primary care, or internal medicine. + Age-appropriate immunizations, Point of Care testing, Strep, Flu RSV testing, and Ear Lavage skills are beneficial. Work Environment The work schedule is from 7:45am to 4:15pm. The MA will see patients approximately every 30 minutes, with each MA assigned to 14-15 patients per day. This role offers the opportunity to work 40-hour weeks, with some overtime potentially available. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $22.00/hr.
