Medical Assistant

As a Medical Assistant, you will welcome patients by greeting them in person or on the telephone, and answering or referring inquiries. You will prepare patients for their healthcare visits by directing and/or accompanying them to the examination room, providing examination gowns and drapes, and arranging examining room instruments, supplies, and equipment. You will verify patient information by interviewing patients, reviewing and/or recording medical history, taking vital signs, and confirming the purpose of the visit or treatment. Additionally, you will complete records by recording patient examination, treatment, and test results, and maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards, policies, and procedures, as well as federal, state, and local requirements. Your responsibilities will also include annotating temperatures for refrigerators, freezers, incubators, and rooms daily, as well as autoclaving instruments in accordance with daily and monthly cleaning schedules.

Responsibilities

Essential Skills

Proficiency in patient care, venipuncture, and medical assisting.Experience with epic, primary care, charting, and rooming.Strong skills in patient intake, labeling, and paperwork.Ability to take temperatures and draw blood.Current CMA or RMA certification required.CPR Certification required.1-3 years of experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred.

Work Environment

You will work in practice clinics around the Greater Charleston area, alongside providers and the associated team, assisting with patient preparation and administrative tasks. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
