Job Description
As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of a physician's practice. You will be responsible for documenting vital signs, preparing patients and examination rooms, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. Your duties will include assisting physicians with procedures, relaying instructions to patients, and accurately documenting medical information in patient records.
ResponsibilitiesPerform vital sign documentation.Prepare patients and rooms for exams and procedures.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment.Organize and perform patient care services that support the physician’s practice.Assist physicians with procedures.Relay instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person.Collect patient data in person and by phone and document patient concerns.Administer medications specifically directed by the physician.Accurately take messages, route them to the appropriate area for direction, and complete order and referral entry.Set up cases in the EMR system and update patient demographics.Assist physician/nurse practitioner with exams and procedures.Track and route test results to physician(s)/nurse practitioner(s) for review.Communicate test results with patients when appropriate.Facilitate patient care activities, including scheduling ancillary tests and reinforcing patient education.Perform triage as directed by physician/nurse practitioner.Maintain adequate inventory of medical, office, and pharmaceutical supplies.Proficiently use electronic health records for documentation and communication involved in patient care.Essential SkillsProficiency in electronic medical record systems.Experience in medical assisting and patient care.Ability to accurately document patient information and demographics.Strong communication skills to relay instructions and test results.Additional Skills & Qualifications2+ years of Medical Assistant experience.Knowledge of basic computer skills for electronic health records.Work Environment
We offer a dynamic work environment with two openings. The first opening is Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM in New Windsor, NY, in the GI suite and endoscopy area. The second opening is Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM in Internal Medicine, which combines reception and medical assistant duties. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
