Job Summary
Summary<br>To perform accurate, precise testing to assist in patient care in a timely manner. To assist in all functions of laboratory services.<br><br>Does this position require Patient Care?<br>No<br><br>Essential Functions<br>-Performs laboratory tests using established procedures in accordance with State and Federal regulations. <br>-Good blood collection techniques for venipuncture, capillary collection, and pediatric collection. <br>
-Reviewing results and logs for technical or clerical oversights/errors. <br>
-Generate complete and accurate reports. <br>
-Verify, report, and document alarm values in a timely manner. <br>
-Participates in QA/QI studies as necessary. <br>
-Performs and review Quality Control Values. <br>
-Helps maintain inventory of technical supplies. <br>
-Performs and documents daily and periodic maintenance. <br>
-Performs calibrations when necessary. <br>
-Troubleshoots and document instrument problems. <br>
-Use “Hot lines” and call in service when necessary. <br>
-Willingness to help others with their assigned duties when needed. <br>
-Flexibility to changes, duties, call, shifts when emergency situations arise. <br>
-Maintains good working relations with areas of service physicians, outside facilities, and the general public. <br>
-Maintains a satisfactory attendance record. <br>
-Works well independently. <br>
-Satisfactory availability and response when on call. <br>
-Complies with department and hospital policy and procedure in accordance with State and Federal regulation. <br>
-Complies with OSHA standards and universal precautions. <br>
-Performs all duties when requested to assist the manager, pathologist, and CEO. <br>
-Assists in training and guiding new staff technologists. <br>
Qualifications
Education
B.A. of M.S. in Biology & Biochemistry in Medical Technology with appropriate certification.

At least two years experience in a clinical Laboratory 2-3 years required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must be able to read, write legibly, speak clearly and understand the English language.

- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with staff, patients, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
