Position: Metering (Measurement) Engineer
Nationality Requirement: Iraqi nationals only
The Metering Engineer will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for crude oil custody transfer metering systems, with a focus on Ultrasonic Metering Systems. The role includes ensuring compliance with custody transfer protocols, overseeing calibration and verification, leading troubleshooting efforts, and supporting reliability improvements and system upgrades. The engineer will also coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders, support procurement activities, audits, and contribute to project readiness.
Key Responsibilities:Ensure compliance with custody transfer protocols and maintain metering system integrity.
Lead calibration, verification, troubleshooting, and risk analysis efforts.
Support engineering changes, maintenance programs, and spare parts planning.
Collaborate with instrumentation and control teams, vendors, and project groups.
Train and mentor junior engineers on metering and measurement practices.
Act as the technical focal point for metering systems throughout operations and projects.
Track and manage non-conformances, audits, and corrective action plans.
Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Control Engineering, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in onshore upstream oil & gas, petrochemical, or refinery environments.
Strong knowledge of liquid ultrasonic flow metering and applicable standards (API MPMS, ASME/ANSI, AGA, ATEX).
Experience with Ultrasonic Metering Systems is highly desirable.
Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
