Responsibilities Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure & Operations, the Network Engineer III will be responsible for the design, implementation, management, and ongoing support of the enterprise network infrastructure at Hudson Yards — a 20 million square foot, mixed-use campus consisting of commercial, residential, retail, and attraction spaces. This role also supports two on-premises data centers and is onsite five days a week (Monday–Friday). This is a highly technical, hands-on position that requires working closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless integration of diverse hardware and software systems. The network supports a wide range of services including Wi-Fi, HVAC/Energy, Access Control, Elevators, Life Safety Systems, Turnstiles, and Voice communications. The ideal candidate is a proactive, self-motivated engineer with deep expertise in Cisco, Meraki, and Palo Alto technologies, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative mindset. The individual must be comfortable balancing strategic initiatives with daily operational responsibilities in a fast-paced enterprise environment. Key Responsibilities: Contributing to design, configure, and support LAN/WAN, wireless, and security infrastructure using Cisco, Meraki, and Palo Alto platforms. Support and maintain networking infrastructure across a large-scale campus network and two enterprise data centers. Lead network-related projects including new deployments, technology refreshes, upgrades, and migrations. Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability, reliability, and security. Collaborate with internal teams and external service providers to define network requirements and deliver scalable, secure solutions. Manage Palo Alto firewall policies, VPNs, security configurations, and integrations with Panorama. Maintain accurate network documentation including diagrams, asset inventory, and standard operating procedures. Mentor junior engineers and serve as a senior escalation point for network-related incidents. Participate in after-hours support rotation and scheduled maintenance windows. Compensation: $120,000 - $135,000 / year Annual performance based bonus Qualifications Required Qualifications: 5–8 years of hands-on experience in enterprise network engineering roles. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Mathematics, Statistics or Engineering Degree from an accredited University or equivalent experience. Expertise with Cisco routing and switching technologies (IOS/NX-OS). Practical experience with Cisco Meraki cloud-managed networking including wireless and SD-WAN. Strong working knowledge of Palo Alto firewall platforms, including experience with Panorama. Solid understanding of Layer 2/3 protocols, VLANs, STP, BGP, OSPF, VPNs, and ACLs. Experience supporting high-density wireless and mixed-use environments. Proficiency with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark). Strong documentation and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deliverables independently. Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills – builds effective working relationships with teammates, vendors, and stakeholders. Excellent communication – explains complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Collaborative team player – works effectively across disciplines and functions. Preferred Qualifications: Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, PCNSE, Meraki CMNA, Ekahau (ECSE). MCSE a plus Work Environment & Schedule: Onsite, Monday–Friday (this is not a remote or hybrid position). Work is based in a mixed-use campus environment with 20M sq. ft. of space and 2 enterprise data centers. Requires participation in after-hours maintenance and on-call support.
