Functions as a member of a multidisciplinary team and provides assessments and treatments for patients in a hospital/clinic setting. Responsibilities include performing neuropsychological and psychodiagnostic evaluations. Persons served range from adolescence to late adulthood, but may also serve school age children and young adolescents. Trains practicum students interested in neuropsychology and conducts specialized training for interns and fellows. Knowledge of and adherence to American Psychological Association (APA) ethical standards. Knowledge of neurodevelopmental disorders listed in the current International Statistical Classification of Diseases (ICD) as well as Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM), as well as treatment approaches including psychotropic medications Familiarity and skill with a broad selection of psychometric tests and testing activities including administering, scoring, interpreting and reports results, as relevant to population. knowledge of the impact of cultural and linguistic diversity on test validity and Ability to adjust assessment approach depending on patient background and presenting complaint. Ability to work flexibly and effectively with a wide range of patients to accommodate physical disabilities, pediatric medical and neurodevelopmental disorders, while ensuing valid test administration and interpretation. Excellent report writing skills with ability to communicate results succinctly.
