Job Title: Occupational Therapy Assistant

Job Description

As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will implement and execute established patient treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. You will work in areas such as , fine motor skills, visual motor skills, visual perceptual skills, play, and other developmental skill areas. Effective communication with patients, families, referring physicians, and other healthcare team members will be essential to ensure quality care. Your role includes assisting Occupational Therapists in processes to prepare for patient discharge, promoting patient engagement, and reporting any changes in patient status or needs promptly.

ResponsibilitiesCommunicate effectively with patients, families, referring physicians, and other healthcare team members.Assist Occupational Therapists in processes for patient discharge.Promote patient engagement by facilitating rapport and managing behavior.Report changes in patient status or needs to the supervising therapist timely.Train patients on adaptive equipment usage.Teach components of ADL routines.Participate in intra-disciplinary and interdisciplinary activities.Coordinate treatment goals with other team members.Maintain appropriate records and document treatment plans and observations.Engage in supervisory relationships and document supervision per Maryland Licensing Board regulations.Essential SkillsCompetence across all age groups, particularly neonate, pediatric, and adolescent populations.Ability to focus clinical care on neonate, pediatric, adolescent populations, and adults with disabilities.Good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards.CPR certification.Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.Certificate from AOTCB with successful completion of national registration exam.Eligible for license to practice Occupational Therapy in Maryland.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in occupational health, triage, and monitoring vitals.Ability to perform discharge planning and provide administrative support.Demonstrated skill in health care provision and discharge processes.Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $36.00/hr.
