Painter reports to the manufacturing supervisor and is responsible for preparing materials and products piece-parts for coating or painting as required. Coats or paints with materials such as wash primers, zinc chromate primers, waterborne primers, lacquers, enamels, dry lube and epoxy coatings. The position works under some supervision and limited contact with external suppliers or customers.
What you will be doing...
Maintains paint and coating supplies.
Adjusts sprayer valves and nozzles to regulate width and pressure of spray to accomplish desired finish.
Selects and mixes coating liquid to military and manufacturer specifications.
Coats or paints with materials such as wash primers, zinc chromate primers, waterborne primers, lacquers, enamels, dry lube and epoxy coatings.
Updates daily chemical usage log and verifies shelf life of in-use chemicals.
Cleans and masks surfaces to be coated or sprayed.
Cleans all paint and spray equipment to remove all contaminants.
Applies uniform primer and topcoats using spray equipment or dip method.
Perform beading, chemical stripping, and sanding operations
What we are looking for...
High school diploma or equivalent required
Less than 2 years of related experience required
Basic written/verbal communication skills
Basic computer skills
Willingness to demonstrate eagerness, enthusiasm, and optimism for work activities
Detail orientation and ability to follow work instructions
