Position Summary
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, this position will act as a liaison between the Company and contract carriers (less than truckload, truckload, air, ground parcel, intermodal), and customers. Position involves daily operational support for the shipping/receiving team, plant and inside sales, and analytical support for selected transportation projects and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and develop working relationships with carrier representatives to support operational transportation needs. Coordinate daily outbound and inbound transportation for raw materials and finished goods.Provide daily report of inbound freight by LTL carrier.Track and monitor daily inbound deliveries of copper rod.Schedule pickups and deliveries with carriers and third-party logistics providers.Cross-train and serve as backup to Shipping/Receiving Coordinator.Ensure proper documentation (BOLs, shipping manifests, customs paperwork) is prepared and maintained.Track and trace shipments to ensure timely delivery and resolve any transportation issues or delays.Communicate effectively with internal teams, vendors, and customers regarding shipment status and scheduling.Support continuous improvement efforts to streamline transportation processes.Provide timely feedback, recommendations and resolution of transportation and operational issues.Provides plant with proper carrier choices, rates, routings, and processes. Trains plantand Inside Sales on proper use of freight terms & authorized systems.
Report on transportation costs, inbound/outbound shipping details and monthly metrics.Maintains accuracy of transportation data within ERP system (SAP) and updates operational manuals (carrier routes guides) and procedures.Responds to inquiries from customer service reps about shipment tracking, carrier availability and use, claims order management and rates quotes.Audit freight bills and identify overcharges.Serve as primary point of contact for carrier loss and damage, or other quality defects.Receive and process CCP transactions, including:Coordinate returns and inspections for applicable damages.Verify root cause was due to carrier performance or behavior.Coordinate with necessary resources to provide Corrective Action Response (CAR).File claims for applicable shortages and damages, and update claim fields in Diamond.Serve as primary point of contact for carrier loss and damage.Coordinate with all applicable internal and external resources to collect relevant claim data and details.Officially file and process loss & damage claims with NA Transportation team.Monitor claim progress with carriers and follow-up as required to ensure timely resolution of active claims.Perform proper record retention.Key Characteristics

Education:High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred)Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products with an emphasis on Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Experience:
