Description We are looking for an experienced Paralegal to join our team on a contract basis in Houston, Texas. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to complex litigation cases, particularly in the area of personal injury law, while supporting attorneys with discovery, pleadings, and expert coordination. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a thorough understanding of legal procedures to ensure deadlines are met and case files are meticulously managed. Responsibilities: • Draft and prepare oral and written discovery documents, including deposition notices and 26(f) reports. • Coordinate and schedule discovery conferences, ensuring all parties are informed and prepared. • Manage third-party discovery processes, including communication and documentation with experts and physicians. • Organize and file pleadings, motions, and other legal documents with precision. • Monitor case deadlines, maintain scheduling worksheets, and prepare scheduling orders. • Assist in the preparation of initial disclosures and document productions. • Facilitate expert appointments and meetings, conducting research and providing necessary information. • Compile medical records for review by physicians and support record deposition preparations. • Ensure effective communication with clients, experts, and third-party entities throughout the litigation process. Requirements • Proven experience as a Paralegal, particularly in litigation and personal injury law. • Proficiency in drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery documents. • Strong knowledge of discovery processes, including e-Discovery and third-party discovery. • Familiarity with filing legal documents and managing case deadlines. • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to effectively communicate with attorneys, clients, and external parties. • Expertise in scheduling and coordinating meetings, conferences, and deadlines. • Competence in handling sensitive legal documentation and medical records.
