Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provides safe, efficient and compassionate patient care to all medical oncology infusion patients
- Develop an ongoing implementation of care plan, education and counseling of patients and loved ones.
- Practice according to ANA and ONS standards of care
- Attends and participates in team meetings and/or rounds
- Documents relevant patient information and current plan in LMR
- Performs a full nursing assessment and formulates an individual plan of care for assigned patients
- Prioritize and initiate specific nursing interventions based on ongoing assessment and update the care plan as needed
Implements individualized Chemotherapy protocol according to policy by:
1. Reviewing MD plan
2. calculating doses of chemotherapy agents
3. reviewing appropriate lab data
4. identifying the patient
5.delivering medications in a safe manner
- Performs technical skills (i.e. VAD access, venipuncture) accurately, per policy - Participates and collaborates with nursing colleagues and other providers to deliver patient care in a timely manner
