Description We are currently seeking a Patient Access Specialist to join our team in Lewiston, Maine. In this role, you will be tasked with the admission duties for patients at our medical facility. Your duties will encompass various administrative tasks, customer service, data entry, and collections, all within the framework of regulatory compliance requirements. • Handle incoming, outgoing, and inter-office calls as necessary. • Adhere to organizational policies while providing exceptional customer service. • Actively participate in achieving point of service goals. • Conduct pre-registration procedures for patient accounts, which may involve both inbound and outbound calling to gather demographic, insurance, and other patient information. • Explain and obtain signatures for general consent for treatment forms from patients or their legal guardians. • Review insurance verification system responses, select the appropriate insurance plan code, and enter benefit data into the system to assist with billing processes. • Utilize quality auditing and reporting systems to ensure the accuracy of accounts. • Conduct audits of accounts, ensuring all forms are completed accurately and on time to meet audit standards. Requirements • Demonstrated ability in Customer Service, with a focus on providing exceptional care and assistance to patients and their families. • Proficiency in Data Entry, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring patient information is correctly and securely logged.
