Position Summary:
Sovah Health is looking for a someone to supervise daily staff activities for an assigned area or function. Oversees the workflow, staffing needs and provides facility support to our patients.
• Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels.
• Manages appointments, patient flow, medical records, transcription systems, fee, credit, and collection procedures, and staff performance and efficiency.
• Provides guidance and supervision for patient care staff including: nursing, medical receptionist, and allied health staff.
• Monitors employee performance and conducts or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
• Provides direction, orientation, coaching, and mentoring to staff.
• Ensures initial and on-going training for employees and ensures cross-training is completed.
• Monitors expenditures and generated charges; assists in the budget process.
• Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Monitors productivity processes and reports to ensure standards are being met.
• Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Education
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Medical Terminology; ICD-9 coding; CPT-4 coding preferred
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Licenses:
Valid driver’s license required
Minimum Work Experience
Five (5) years of management experience in health care organization required
Two (2) years of experience a physician practice required (In lieu of management experience must have five years of experience as a Patient Service Representative or Front Office Rep/Receptionist in a medical setting)
