Payroll Manager

Overseeing the process of timely and accurate weekly, biweekly, and monthly multi-state, non-union, and union payrolls for subsidiariesManaging a team of 3-4 payroll administratorsReviewing payrolls and transmitting payroll files to ADP on weekly/biweekly basisAdhering to payroll best practices, guidelines, and proceduresRecommending automation and improvement on payroll related processesCoordinating timekeeping (Oracle Time and Labor) and payroll systemsOverseeing the processing of payroll changes (e.g., new hires, terminations, raises)Reviewing manual checks and wiresBeing the integral part during conversions and acquisitionsEnsuring compliance with relevant federal, state, and local lawsSupervising and coaching team membersCoordinating with auditors on SOX, internal, and external auditsCoordinating testing on new extensions, system upgrades, new calculation set ups, projects, and data analysesWorking together with Human Resources (HR) and Accounting teams to reconcile discrepanciesMaintaining accurate records and preparing reports for auditsResolving issues and answering payroll-related questionsEscalating complex questions to Payroll DirectorCoordinating Workers Compensation and Multiple Work Site location reports on a quarterly basisCoordinating SUI rate changes, updating and investigating ADP charges to the rates on ADP invoices for accuracyAssisting to resolve any tax variances presented by the payroll tax accountantCoordinating quarter and year end activitiesWorking with IT on testing new processes and interfacesProfessional and timely customer service to internal, external, and third parties

 

Qualifications:

Proven 3+ years of experience as a payroll manager processing high volume number of employees Multistate payroll experience is requiredProven leadership experienceCurrent knowledge of payroll procedures and related lawsFamiliarity with payroll software ADP Vantage or WFN, ADPR reportingAbility to work with others, cross-functionally and build relationships in a team environmentExperience in system implementationsStrong interpersonal and customer service skillsAbility to establish and maintain cooperative work relationshipsOutstanding communication skills (written and oral)Organizational and leadership skillsKnowledge of labor and payroll tax lawsBSC/BA in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources or a related fieldCPP designation is requiredUnderstanding of federal, state, and local payroll regulations and union contractsStrong excel and analytical skillsAbility to multi-task and prioritize tasks and projects effectively

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $135000.00/yr.
