Job Summary
SummaryResponsible to ensure the team's efficiency, adherence to payroll policies and procedures, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, provide guidance to team members, and contribute to the continuous improvement of payroll processes. Develops schedules, coaches staff, precepts new hires and serves as a go to for day-to-day questions.
Essential Functions
-Lead and supervise a team of payroll administrators, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
-Oversee end-to-end payroll processing, including data input, calculations, deductions, tax withholding, and issuance of accurate paychecks or direct deposits.
-Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws, regulations, and tax requirements.
-Collaborate with HR, finance, and other departments to gather payroll-related data, resolve issues, and ensure accurate employee information.
-Review and validate payroll inputs, including timesheets, leave requests, new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, and other relevant data.
-Coordinate with finance and HR to reconcile payroll-related accounts and resolve discrepancies.
Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Bachelor's Degree Human Resources Management preferred
Experience
3-5 years of experience in payroll processing and administration required
2-3 years of demonstrated leadership / management experience required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong knowledge of payroll processes, tax regulations, labor laws, and payroll best practices.
Familiarity with payroll software systems and proficiency in using payroll-related tools and applications.
Excellent understanding of wage and hour laws, payroll tax regulations, and other payroll compliance requirements.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to reconcile and resolve complex payroll discrepancies.
Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations, with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
