Description
We are looking for a skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team in Prince George's County, Maryland. In this long-term contract position, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for a workforce of 50 employees. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with experience in handling full-cycle payroll and a passion for maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Responsibilities:
• Process full-cycle weekly payroll for a team of 52 employees using Foundation Software and Microsoft Excel.
• Ensure timely payments to local, state, and federal agencies while maintaining compliance with all regulations.
• Prepare detailed templates for treasury and accounting teams to facilitate payroll payment processing.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accuracy in payroll balances and related documentation.
• Maintain payroll records and documentation in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
• Address employee inquiries related to payroll and resolve discrepancies effectively.
• Stay updated on payroll laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Assist with certified payroll reporting as needed.
Requirements
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably for small to medium-sized teams.
• Proficiency in Foundation Software and Microsoft Excel for payroll-related tasks.
• Degree in accounting, finance, business or related field along with Certified Payroll certification (CPP) highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations at local, state, and federal levels.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet strict deadlines.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and a high level of integrity.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on attention to detail.
