Payroll Specialist
Description We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Washington, District of Columbia. In this role, you will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with relevant laws and company policies. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with Paycom experience to contribute to a dynamic and collaborative work environment. Responsibilities: • Process payroll accurately and on schedule using Paycom software to ensure employee payments are timely and correct. • Maintain and update payroll records, including tax withholdings, direct deposit information, and benefit contributions. • Generate and distribute payroll reports for management while ensuring compliance with internal policies and government regulations. • Address and resolve payroll discrepancies by collaborating with employees and troubleshooting issues. • Conduct payroll audits and maintain accurate records of timesheets, payment history, and related documentation. • Stay informed about changes in payroll laws, tax regulations, and updates to Paycom software to ensure compliance and efficiency. • Work closely with HR and Finance teams to verify payroll data and improve processes. • Assist with month-end reporting and the preparation of year-end W-2 forms. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of payroll processing experience, preferably with Paycom software. • High school diploma or equivalent is required; a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field is preferred. • Proficiency in payroll systems and advanced knowledge of Excel or similar spreadsheet tools. • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in payroll data. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with employees and cross-functional teams. • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Familiarity with accounting functions, benefit administration, and full-cycle payroll processes.
