Payroll Specialist I

One of our major oil and gas clients is seeking a Payroll Specialist I to work on a 12-month assignment in their facilities in Houston, TX.
Summary:
Seeking a highly motivated payroll specialist with a solid understanding of payroll principles to join our team. The ideal candidate should possess excellent problem-solving skills and be proficient in Excel and Outlook. Additionally, strong communication skills are essential for this role, as the candidate will be interacting with various team members and stakeholders on a regular basis. The candidate must be willing to work in the office during the training period and as needed.
Responsibilities: Responsible for the processing of biweekly and monthly payrolls for 1200 to 2,000 employees are located in various states. Payroll processing includes reconciliation of earnings, deductions, and taxes, running audit reports and submitting reconciliations to management for review and approval. Work with managers to ensure that the worked time for non-exempt employees is approved by the established deadline. Payroll Input as needed. Payroll Tax Adjustments and company reclassifications. Process on-demand payments & Manual payments as needed. Process EIB Loads Run/audit Payroll Integrations. Tax and Payment elections set-ups/audits. W2 Corrections as needed Garnishment/Tax Levy Set-ups. Stuffing and distribution of payroll checks and pay slips. Manage Case Management and the Payroll Help Line - Assist Human Resources, Benefits, and employees with payroll-related questions. Special projects and responsibilities as assigned. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements: Minimum of 2 years of experience This role will support the day-to-day activities for payroll operations. 9/80 schedule/overtime is expected. (7 am to 5 pm Monday through Thursday, 7 am to 4 pm on the working Friday Payroll processing experience and willingness to learn Communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills Proficiency with Excel, Outlook, and ideally Workday.
