Pharmacy Intern - Ambulatory Pharmacy
**Employment Type:** Part time **Shift:** Day Shift **Description:** **Position Summary:** Under the direction of ambulatory pharmacists, completes outreach and follow up to patients to improve individual and population health. **Qualifications:** + Education Minimum: Currently enrolled in an accredited school/college of Pharmacy with a minimum of a High School Diploma/GED/Equivalent + Minimum: Licensed as a Pharmacy Intern by the Michigan Board of Pharmacy + Preferred: Must have completed at least 2 years of pharmacy school (i.e. be a P3 or P4 level Pharmacy student); have previous pharmacy technician or pharmacy intern experience **What the Pharmacy Intern will do:** + Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, assist in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state, federal and company policy. + Interact with all levels of medical staff to discuss relevant patient information as warranted. + Participates in the process of dispensing medications to patients. + Reinforce patient self-management of medications through provision of education on proper medication administration, medication adherence, storage, and drug disposal. + Report issues and concerns to manager in a timely manner. + Maintain confidentiality of patient and company information. + Respond to drug information requests. + Maintains logs, records, and other required files and documentation; answers the phone and handles cash transactions. + Ability to efficiently work at all pharmacy workstations including order entry, filling station, phones, pick-up, and consultation. **Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion** Trinity Health is one of the largest not-for-profit, Catholic healthcare systems in the nation.
