As a Specialty Pharmacy Technician, you will assist the Pharmacist in processing Specialty Pharmacy orders. This role involves handling all aspects of patient orders from initiation of therapy, scheduling delivery, assessing drug and supply usage, adjudication and processing, through discontinuation from pharmacy services.
ResponsibilitiesCommunicate with clients regarding usage of medications, supplies, and other related aspects of therapy.Determine drug or supply needs based on received information and relay any discrepancies to appropriate staff.Fill prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist, including pulling prescription items, labeling, and recording quantities dispensed, lot numbers, and expiration dates.Produce prescription labels and delivery tickets with patient’s prescriptions and supplies.Adjudicate claims correctly and timely when applicable by insurance type.Ensure all generated delivery tickets are returned to be confirmed timely and accurately.Make delivery tickets 'Ready to Bill' by noting SOC, making adjustments for hospitalization, missed dose, non-compliance, per diem adjustments.Inform Pharmacy staff of any patients who stop or discontinue therapy, issue pick-up requests, and change the status of the patient in the CPR+ system.Maintain stock levels and order supplies under the supervision of a pharmacist.Pick and pack orders based on delivery requests and assure the accuracy of goods to be delivered by checking contents of orders packed for delivery.Essential SkillsPharmacy technician certificationCustomer serviceCphtData entry2+ years of experience in a pharmacy, hospital, or other medical settingAdditional Skills & QualificationsPharmacy technician certification is highly preferredIdeally 2 years of college in the medical fieldPrior authorizationInsuranceInventoryEvidence of good communication skills, integrity, initiative, and a positive attitudeWork EnvironmentThe work environment is indoors and air-conditioned. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
