We want you to apply! **Job Summary and Qualifications** A Pharmacy Technician shall completely and accurately fill medication orders for verification by a Pharmacist, reconcile and charge floor stock including narcotics and prepare sterile products using sterile technique. Complete monthly nursing inspections, deliver medications and IV’s as scheduled including stats and check in and maintain inventory. Answer the phone and assist the pharmacist as needed and maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the pharmacy. Employee will be responsible for knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, psychological, educational, safety and related criteria for the neonate, infant child, adolescent, adult and geriatric population. What You Will Do In This Role: + Supports the philosophy of Kingwood Medical Center by facilitating cooperation of hospital staff in a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care. + Consistently provides outstanding service to all patients, physicians, fellow employees, and guests. + Displays initiative to see processes through to completion and offers assistance without being asked. + Maintains awareness of own limitations and seeks guidance from appropriate personnel as needed. + Prioritizes activities of self based on demands for service. + Remains alert to the detection of errors in own work and the work of others with appropriate corrective actions initiated. + Demonstrates an understanding of patient rights, including those pertaining to confidentiality, informed decision-making, and privacy. + Is aware of resources available for ethical concerns and makes appropriate referrals. + Practices cost-efficiently. + Performs technical skills proficiently in accordance with established standards, as evidenced by annual validation processes. + Utilizes specialized knowledge and skill to perform job requirements. + Reconcile and replace drugs and IV’s used in Floor stock and Crash Carts. + Deliver medications and IV’s to patient care areas. + Perform cart fill. + Package bulk drugs in unit dose packages and maintain records. + Check pharmacy stock for expired and unusable drugs. + Note items that are out-of-stock or in low supply on the want book. + Prepare IV admixtures using correct aseptic technique. + Input charges into the computer - correct drug - correct patient or department.
