Job Summary

Summary<br>Responsible for supporting the operations of the pharmacy and ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of medications and healthcare products.<br><br>Does this position require Patient Care?<br>No<br><br>Essential Functions<br>-Accurately and efficiently fill prescription orders under the supervision of a pharmacist. <br>
-This includes selecting the correct medications, measuring the appropriate quantities, and labeling the prescriptions correctly. <br>
-Maintain adequate stock levels of medications and supplies, monitor expiration dates, and assist with the organization of the pharmacy's inventory. <br>
-Receive and interpret prescription orders, ensuring they are complete and accurate. <br>
-Verify patient information, insurance details, and medication dosages. <br>
-Collaborate with healthcare professionals to resolve any discrepancies or issues. <br>


 

Qualifications

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Licenses and Credentials
Pharmacy Technician [State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred Pharmacy Technician Certification [CPhT] - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) preferred

Experience
Experience as a pharmacy technician, preferably in a healthcare or retail pharmacy setting. 5-7 years preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent knowledge of pharmacy operations, including medication dispensing, inventory management, and prescription processing.
- Proficiency in using pharmacy software systems and other relevant technology.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to perform accurate calculations and measurements.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and colleagues.
- Knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and safety procedures.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with pharmacy practice settings, legal requirements and limitations, prescription information and calculations, drug identification and generic equivalents, drug manufacturing, packaging and labeling information, and proper drug handling and storage practices.
