Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist III to join our dynamic team in an inpatient setting. The role involves greeting patients, performing blood draws, and handling various laboratory tasks with precision and care. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional skill in specimen collection, processing, and compliance with health and safety regulations.

ResponsibilitiesGreet patients as they arrive at the lab and perform blood draws with proficiency using straight and butterfly needles.Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as per test order requirements.Ensure the correct matching of laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.Package and store specimens according to established procedures and required temperatures.Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.Handle insurance and billing processes accurately.Answer telephone inquiries and provide laboratory results as needed.Maintain compliance with OSHA and DEP regulations, attending annual department trainings.Provide excellent customer service to all patients.Essential Skills6+ months of phlebotomy/venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.Previous customer service experience in any setting.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.Strong understanding of laboratory processes and procedures.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED.Positive and hardworking attitude with a patient-first mindset.Ability to take feedback constructively and eagerness to learn.Proven reliability and positive attendance record.Work Environment

This position is located at the Legacy Emanuel facility in Portland, OR. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 PM to 4:00 AM, with rotating weekends. The initial contract duration is 3 months, with the possibility of extensions based on business needs and performance. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.85 - $27.00/hr.
