We are seeking a skilled Pipeline Engineer to oversee inspection and corrosion management activities related to crude oil pipeline infrastructure, including a nearshore marine terminal. The role includes responsibility for the integrity, inspection coordination, and corrosion prevention of pipeline systems and associated equipment within designated Tanzanian operational perimeters. The engineer will also serve as the main interface for pipeline integrity and chemical treatment activities.

Key Responsibilities: Implement inspection plans (written schemes of inspection) for pipelines, pipeline structures (e.g., HDD), and pressure safety devices (PSDs). Maintain equipment registers, inspection schedules, reports, and remedial actions using the CMIMS (Computerized Maintenance & Inspection Management System) and RBI-P. Ensure inspections and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) are performed in accordance with safety rules, technical procedures, and standards. Coordinate site inspection activities and supervise inspection contractors. Support third-party representatives during statutory inspections. Prepare or review inspection reports, analyze findings, assess fitness for service, and recommend remedial actions. Develop and review pipeline inspection and corrosion control procedures, including intelligent pigging and corrosion coupon programs. Recommend corrective actions related to material selection, coating, cathodic protection, corrosion inhibition, and operational practices. Ensure recommended remedial actions are documented in the CMIMS and followed up accordingly. Verify compliance of repairs, modifications, and procurements with applicable regulations and technical codes. Review and participate in change management and technical audits involving NDT, welding, coatings, and pressure vessel fabrication. Update data and documentation supporting Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) methodologies. Act as the focal point for pipeline inspection and corrosion control within the Tanzanian section of the pipeline network. Key Equipment and Areas Under Responsibility: Crude oil pipeline Corrosion monitoring systems (coupons, pigging) Emergency Pipeline Repair System (EPRS) Health, Safety & Environmental Responsibilities: Fully comply with company H3SE (Health, Safety, Social, Security & Environment) policies and Life Saving Rules. Promote and actively participate in a strong HSEQ culture. Maintain vigilance and report any unsafe conditions or improvement opportunities. Ensure a clean, safe, and well-organized workspace. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering (or equivalent), with a focus on mechanics, metallurgy, materials, and corrosion. Registered Professional Engineer (ERB certification required). Strong understanding of pipeline systems, oil & gas process equipment, and corrosion mechanisms. Proficiency in international inspection standards (ASME, API, NACE). Experience with RBI methodologies and CMIMS platforms. Skilled in fitness-for-service assessments (API RP 579, ASME, DNV). Fluent in written and spoken English. Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspection techniques.
