Airswift is currently seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to support a major client in the energy sector. This contract opportunity is ideal for professionals with strong Informatica PowerCenter and Oracle PL/SQL expertise, who thrive in a fully on-premise, non-cloud environment.
The role will involve supporting new project development, ongoing operational data support, and production troubleshooting within a highly data-driven team.
Key Responsibilities Data Engineering & IntegrationDesign, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Informatica PowerCenter.
Write and optimize Oracle PL/SQL queries and stored procedures.
Support data replication and real-time integration using tools like HVR (training available if needed).
Perform manual data import/export, scripting, and operational support across staging environments.
Operational & Production SupportTroubleshoot production incidents and conduct root cause analysis.
Monitor and maintain performance of data pipelines and ETL processes.
Ensure smooth transitions between development and production following structured release processes.
Documentation & CollaborationDocument data workflows, maintenance tasks, and solution architecture.
Work closely with analysts, developers, and business stakeholders to meet data needs.
Participate in an after-hours support rotation as required by the team.
Must-Have Qualifications3+ years of Informatica PowerCenter development experience.
3+ years of experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL (advanced query writing and performance tuning).
Strong experience with manual data operations, including scripting and job orchestration.
Familiarity with managing data in non-cloud, on-premise environments.
Nice-to-Have SkillsExperience with Change Data Capture (CDC) tools such as HVR or PowerExchange.
Exposure to SQL Server and common data file formats (CSV, XML, JSON, Excel).
Understanding of manual deployment/versioning workflows instead of automated CI/CD tools.
Previous experience in a DBA-style support role is a plus.
