Principal, AI Program Manager

Reporting to the Chief Data, AI and Analytics Officer and closely collaborating with key stakeholders across Ford, such as Ford’s head of AI, security, legal, procurement, and business stakeholders, the AI program manager’s primary responsibility is coordinating Ford’s AI strategy, technical delivery and embedment of AI across Ford Motor Company. This pivotal role will be instrumental in driving significant business value through the strategic application of AI focusing on high-impact projects. These artificial intelligence initiatives are critical to Ford’s transformation and competitiveness in today’s rapidly evolving global automotive market. As AI technology reshapes industries worldwide, Ford recognizes that artificial intelligence is already influencing nearly every role within the company—enhancing processes, driving innovation, and unlocking new business opportunities.
+ **Program management and execution** . Define, plan and manage the lifecycle of multiple complex, highly impactful AI initiatives. This includes working with key stakeholders on high value AI use case intake and prioritization. You are highly organized, proactively identify and help resolve blockers.
+ **External benchmarking.** Collaborate with key internal and external experts on AI benchmarking.
+ **Stakeholder management** . Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with a range of stakeholders, including executives and technical experts, effectively communicating progress, risks, and opportunities. You are a connector and bring the right people together at the right time.
+ **Strategic leadership** . Co-develop the overarching AI strategy with key stakeholders, aligning with the company’s top goals. You think bold while staying grounded in execution.
+ **High-Impact Individual Contributor with Growth Potential.** Serve as a key individual contributor, leading strategically important AI initiatives with significant visibility and cross-functional influence. While the role does not initially include direct people management presently, there is clear potential for future leadership opportunities as the role evolves.
+ **Change management and adoption** . Develop and execute strategies to drive the adoption and embedment of AI solutions within the organization, in collaboration with key partners in the business.
+ **Continuous learning** . Staying abreast of AI trends.
+ MBA or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or work equivalent experience.
+ Minimum of 5+ years of experience:
+ Program and project management expertise
+ Strong understanding of the AI product lifecycle (no hands-on technical AI experience needed)
+ Proven ability to drive the development and articulation of product strategies aligned with business objectives
+ Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
+ Proven ability to influence and get buy-in across diverse teams and organizational levels
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision making.
