Private Bank Relationship Manager PE/VC
Description Citizens Private Bank has accelerated its strategy to build out Wealth Management, scale Business Banking, grow deposits, and expand in key growth markets. We are looking for talented individuals with a demonstrated track record of delivering a white glove experience to clients that results in long-term client loyalty. Citizens Private Wealth presently manages and advises on over $20 Billion in assets, offering a wide scope of services, expertise, and research, while intimately focusing on each client’s unique circumstances. A PE/VC team based in Menlo Park is adding a Relationship Manager to the team to contribute to the ongoing growth. The Relationship Manager is responsible for creating new and expanding existing relationships in Private Equity, Venture Capital and innovation economy verticals within the CFG Private Bank. The Relationship Manager works within a designated team to generate new business for the Bank through prospecting and market development efforts. The RM will be required to have an in-depth understanding of the PE, VC and innovation economy as well as strong network within this space Given the RM’s role as a business development specialist, a strong understanding of the Bank’s product offerings is required for cross-sell opportunities outside of their designated banking vertical. In this role, the RM also supports the team through learning development and provides training opportunities for more junior roles on the team. The RM will also be tasked with developing up and coming professionals within the private bank. Responsibilities: + Serve as a growth contributor for designated team – includes working closely with analysts and other support team members for their development. + Responsible for generating new business opportunities across the PE, VC and innovation economy business verticals. + Identifying potential cross-sell opportunities from prospects and existing clients and liaising with internal colleagues who can help execute those cross-sell opportunities (cash management, private banking, wealth management, foreign exchange, commercial banking, capital markets and advisory, etc.). + Fully understand the Bank’s credit appetite and review new and existing opportunities to identify potential credit risks. + Partner with Relationship Managers in the Private Bank to deliver full experience to clients. + Collaborate and support team with strategic business development efforts. + Engage and manage term sheet and legal documentation negotiations between clients, Bank counsel, and client counsel. A full understanding of the legal document and underwriting process is required. + Manage new and existing PE and VC client relationships through frequent client meetings and thoughtful communications to ensure strong, stable relationships. + Conduct marketing and community building efforts to reach prospective clients and engage with PE/VC participants to educate individuals on the Bank’s offerings and credit opportunities that may benefit the business. + Remain knowledgeable on market trends to properly put forth thoughtful credit terms, while remaining competitive in the private equity credit markets. Key measures of success: + Maintain portfolio’s premier credit quality through targeted, thoughtful business development + Generate new relationship opportunities for the Bank through marketing and prospecting efforts + Maintain strong relationships with existing clients to build existing relationships through cross-sell efforts + Fully understand all aspects of credit products being offered to clients + Working successfully with the Bank’s other product teams and Relationship Managers to continuously improve the client experience and offer business opportunities where the private equity vertical could not service. Qualifications: + 7+ years of relationship management and existing industry contacts at PE/VC organizations in a client facing role with track record of success. + Ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of all credit product offerings to the Private Bank’s PE/VC clients including (i) capital call lines of credit, (ii) revolving lines of credit to management companies, (iii) term loans to management companies, (iv) general partner term commitment facilities to corporate borrowers, (v) standby letters of credit, and (vi) holding company (promissory) notes preferred. In addition, the candidate must be knowledgeable about other Bank products to increase cross-sell opportunities supporting the PE/VC vertical. + Bachelors degree preferred Pay Transparency The salary range for this position is $150,000 - $225,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn additional incentive earnings. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
