Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Steel Kingman, Inc. is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Process Engineer. The Process Engineer will primarily focus on implementing and improving processes site-wide using analytical tools, data, and teamwork, and developing and executing actions of our division. The successful candidate will work closely with mill-wide operations, environmental, maintenance, and metallurgical personnel to optimize processes and meet division goals with a focus on continually improving our safety, quality, cost, reliability, productivity, and profitability, as well as other duties as assigned. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards always.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelors degree in engineering (Mechanical, Metallurgical, Material Science, Chemical, Electrical or equivalent)
+ Minimum 3-years experience in applying process or metallurgical engineering principles with a focus on process control in a manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Prior experience in process improvement through analysis.
+ Prior experience in failure analysis and the corrective action process.
+ Knowledge of the melting, casting, and rolling process.
+ Prior QMOS experience
+ Experience with control, operation, and optimization of EAF, billet caster, rolling mill, environmental sustainability, material handling equipment, and robotics.
