Catalent Pharma Solutions in Swindon is offering a fantastic opportunity for a Process Engineer to join our innovative Zydis® team. In this role, you will lead process development initiatives, creating new processes and optimizing existing ones to ensure the highest standards of safety, efficiency, quality, and compliance.

Our Zydis® ODT (orally dissolving tablet) formulation is a unique, freeze-dried oral solid dosage form that disperses almost instantly in the mouth—no water required. With over 20 products launched in 60 countries, Zydis® continues to be the world’s best-in-class ODT technology.

The Role:

Engineering Expertise: Develop and optimize processes through experimentation, modelling, simulation, and data assessment.

Innovation: Implement innovative technologies to enhance sustainability, yield, cycle time, and drug product quality.

Scale-Up/Scale-Down: Execute scale-up and scale-down of Zydis® processes.

Tech Transfer: Develop a tech transfer model to ensure successful manufacturability of Zydis® products.

Collaboration: Work closely with supply chain, equipment manufacturers, customers, project management, customer service, NPDM, and formulation teams.

Process Solutions: Provide engineering solutions, engage in technical discussions, and scale up processes into manufacturing facilities.

Process Improvement:

Develop innovative solutions to address recurring failures and issues impacting plant operations.

Provide expert technical support to production teams, maintenance management, and technical personnel.

Identify necessary equipment to meet customer demand and critical process parameters.

Demonstrate exceptional communication skills with internal customers, project engineers, and technical staff.

The Candidate:

Educational Background: Degree in Engineering (Chemical preferred) or related field, or equivalent experience.

Professional Experience: Proven experience in process development, technology transfer, and manufacturing environments.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in designing processes and applying statistical process control methods. Knowledge of fluid dynamics and freeze drying is desirable.

Industry Experience: Preferably experienced in pharmaceutical, food, FMCG, or biotechnology industries.

Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills, including Microsoft 365. Programming skills in Fluent/Gambit are preferred but not essential.

Personal Attributes: A proactive problem solver with a positive attitude.
