We are guided and united by our Group Purpose of “giving our world more smiles.” Visit: https://www.fujifilm.com/us/en/about/region/careers **Job Description** **_Salary range for position: $120,000 - $150,000, commensurate with experience._** **Position Summary:** The Process Engineer will work in a team environment on developing and troubleshooting wafer fabrication processes in dry etch, wet etch, photo, plating, metallization, grind, and measurement as well as the integration of them to produce high yielding MEMS die. You will work in a cleanroom environment. Ideal candidate will have Master’s or PhD in material science, engineering, physics, applied physics, chemistry, or a related field and preferably five or more years hands-on experience working on MEMS fabrication and characterization. **Knowledge:** Having specialized knowledge in semiconductor and MEMS fabrication, uses skills to contribute to the development of the MEMS product in creative and effective ways. **Job Complexity:** Works on complex issues where analysis of situation or data requires an evaluation of variable factors. Exercises independent judgement in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Communicates well with other fab personnel and in meetings with other sites. **Supervision:** Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and coordinates activities of other personnel. Be able to work self-directed. **Experience:** Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience. **ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:** + Develop manufacturing process flows for new or improved MEMS devices. + Characterize MEMS devices using various metrology and analytical tools. + Develop new or improved manufacturing and testing processes that are necessary to achieve performance and cost requirements. + Troubleshoot fab processes and correct problems in MEMS devices using experimental methods such as DOE and present to the team. + Prepare analysis reports. + Interface with manufacturing and engineering departments as well as vendors. + Communicate with fab personnel and other engineers face-to-face and using remote meetings to resolve problems and accomplish work. Be a team player. + Use good problem solving and project management skills to solve a wide variety of technical problems. **QUALIFICATIONS:** To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. **REQUIRED:** + BS in Material Science, MEMS, Material Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience. + Experience in MEMS fabrication, characterization, or metrology. + Wafer fab experience + Good problem identification and solving skills. + Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills to effectively present information to peers and management. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team. + Excellent analytical skills. + Strong working knowledge of standard office software, including Microsoft Word and Excel. + Ability to work in a cleanroom environment. + Ability to prioritize and finish assigned work in an efficient and timely manner with minimum supervision. **DESIRED:** + Experience in MEMS process integration from concept to finished product. + Knowledge of MEMS devices such as ink jet printheads, resonators, sensors, or actuators is desired. For example, electro-mechanical device modeling and analysis; piezoelectric material property evaluation; thin film material processing and characterization; failure analysis and device integration. + Semiconductor processing experience such as photolithography patterning; PVD, including metal deposition; silicon or ceramic dry etching (DRIE); wet etching; wafer bonding; mask design software experience. + Experience with Piezo inkjet or other MEMS devices incorporating fluidic, electrical, and packaging designs. + Experience in MEMS design.
