Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Process Development: Design and develop machining processes for new and existing products, ensuring high yield, optimal efficiency and quality. Optimization: Continuously analyze and improve machining processes to improve yield, enhance productivity, reduce waste, and lower costs. New Production Introduction: Lead the introduction of new products into the machining process, ensuring smooth transitions from prototype to full-scale production. Tooling and Equipment: Select and implement appropriate tooling and equipment for machining operations, ensuring compatibility and efficiency. Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain quality control standards and procedures to ensure products meet or exceed specifications. Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues related to machining processes, equipment, and tooling. Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, including work instructions, process flows, and control plans. Continuous Improvement: Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall manufacturing performance.Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in machining process engineering or a similar role. Proficiency in CNC programming and operation. Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and equipment. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Skills
Experience in ceramic fabrication and machining Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Commitment to continuous improvement Prepares written documents Proactively takes actions to address customer needs and issues. Regularly works independently with minimal supervision to achieve goals and objectives. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.Working Conditions
Office, machine shop and laboratory environments. Occasional travel may be required.Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.Safety Requirements
