Product Manager (f/m/d) for the Healthcare Provider Industry in Industry Product Engineering

Many healthcare provider institutions worldwide are currently relying on SAP Patient Management to support their administrative and billing requirements. Moving forward, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our partner-led product strategy, driving innovation, and ensuring the products deliver exceptional value to our customers. You will specifically focus on managing the transition from SAP Patient Management and SAP ERP to the next-generation, hybrid, modular, offerings for healthcare providers from SAP, our partners and other vendors. Crucially, you'll drive our AnyEMR strategy, focusing on seamless integration between EMR/HIS systems and the SAP Business Suite including SAP S/4HANA. You'll be at the forefront of our collaboration efforts with EMR/HIS vendors. This includes establishing and managing partnerships, but also developing standardized integration approaches and leveraging healthcare interoperability standards like HL7 FHIR to enable seamless interoperability. As a Product Manager, you'll be the "glue" between different roles and functions along the entire product value chain. You'll manage relationships and deliverables internally (design, development, marketing, legal, and sales) and externally (partners, SAP user groups, and customers). You'll be responsible for defining the "WHY" of product viability, "WHAT" it should look like, and "WHEN" it should be built and delivered, based on market needs. Your deep knowledge of the market, customer needs, and EMR/HIS vendor landscape will be crucial in shaping products from ideation through launch and beyond, for both SAP and partner offerings. You'll work closely with our suppliers, partners, and engineering teams to ensure market success, defining comprehensive Go-to-Market strategies with Product Marketing. You will: • Develop the product strategy and vision, aligning it with SAP's overall business objectives and specific industry needs and ensure it is communicated internally within engineering, designer and other relevant stakeholders, as well as with external customers and the market • Collaborate with international healthcare IT partners and vendors to foster integration with the SAP Business Suite with a focus on user experience and business value • Lead the product discovery process, identifying valuable, usable, feasible, and viable solutions to significant customer problems • Conduct continuous customer research to deeply understand customer needs, pain points, and jobs-to-be-done • Collaborate closely with design and engineering teams and ensure, that everything is in line with the product vision and strategy • Define and prioritize the product backlog with your product management team, ensuring it reflects both customer needs and business value • Work with data scientists and analysts to leverage data in product decision-making and to measure product success • Develop and maintain the product roadmap, communicating it effectively to stakeholders across the organization • Partner with marketing and sales teams to develop and execute go-to-market strategies • Act as the voice of the customer within the organization, advocating for their needs and perspectives • Identify and assess potential strategic partnerships or integrations that could enhance the product offering • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to inform product decisions • Foster strong relationships with key customers, SAP user groups, and partners to gather insights and validate product direction • Develop business cases and ROI analyses to justify product investments • Measure and analyze product performance, using data to drive continuous improvement • Manage product-related customer escalations within your team and develop appropriate solutions • Be accountable for the success of the industry product(s), ensuring SAP’s products deliver on customer expectations. **What you bring** This position requires a blend of strategic thinking, resilience and self-motivation, deep industry knowledge, and the ability to collaborate across various SAP teams as well as our partners to successfully manage the transition to the next-generation products to market. Required skills: • 3 years of product management experience, preferably with a focus on strategic product planning in healthcare IT • Proven track record of successfully driving complex product initiatives from concept to market success • Knowledge of the SAP’s product portfolio for Healthcare providers and SAP’s corporate strategy • Deep understanding of the Healthcare Provider market, its customer’s needs and business drivers • Ability to define healthcare provider’s E2E processes from patient admission to reimbursement with the relevant touchpoints into SAP’s business processes • Strong understanding of EMR, HIS, RCM systems and modern healthcare IT infrastructures and platforms (e.g., CDR) • Familiarity with healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR, DICOM) • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and clinical workflows • Understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) • Superior problem-solving capabilities and strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights • Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization • Experience with agile methodologies and product development best practices • Ability to advocate industry thought leadership both internally and externally. • Ability to conduct market research, analyse trends, and understand the competitive landscape. • Bachelor's degree in Medical Informatics, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA is a plus • Demonstrated ability to balance customer needs, technical constraints, and business objectives • Language skills: fluency in German as well as English required **Meet your team** Fostering SAP’s cloud strategy, Industry Product Engineering (IPE) reinvents businesses by building new, industry-specific applications for strategic markets on BTP, providing customers with essential solutions for their business transformation. ​ **Bring out your best** SAP innovations help more than four hundred thousand customers worldwide work together more efficiently and use business insight more effectively.
