Program Manager, Medicaid Product Planning
The Program Manager, Medicaid Product Planning, will develop, implement, and oversee initiatives for UPMC for You’s Medicaid Product Planning department to drive overall product performance improvement. Responsibilities will include strategic planning, development, and oversight, as well as highly effective coordination with other UPMCHP departments. The Program Manager must effectively meet initiative timelines and ensure that established targets are met. The Program Manager will report to the Director, Medicaid Product Planning and be recognized in a lead role by other staff and departments within the Health Plan. This position may manage relevant support staff based on business needs. This will be a full-time hybrid opportunity working daylight hours that will require working in the office 3 days per week. **Responsibilities:** + Serve as a collaborative team member of the Medicaid Product Planning department, building trust and strong rapport with peers, leadership, and other UPMCHP departments. + Develop, implement, and oversee Medicaid product initiatives and strategies that improve financial performance and demonstrate strong ROI. + Leverage Medicaid experience to identify and present new product initiatives for review/consideration. + Effectively coordinate related activities with other UPMCHP departments (e.g., network, clinical, finance, analytics, operations, claims, pharmacy, etc.) to ensure that all aspects of each initiative are successful and that impacted departments are aware of progress/updates. + Provide exceptional written and verbal communications to key stakeholders effectively and succinctly, including senior leadership audiences, as appropriate. + Effectively problem solve issues/barriers as they arise to accomplish initiative deadlines within the specified timeframes. + Track and monitor initiative performance to achieve maximum results, including established KPIs, benchmarks, and targets, as applicable. + Escalate issues appropriately to ensure established initiative timelines are met. + Analyze industry trends to inform both short- and long-term product strategies and initiatives. + Inform achievable short- and long-term strategic goals based on Medicaid industry knowledge and UPMC for You’s business objectives. + Review and assess current initiatives and established programs for value/ROI, as appropriate. + Support initiative reporting and monitoring functions for established programs based on business needs. + Assist with contract development, review, oversight, and monitoring related to product vendors, as appropriate. + Masters degree in health administration or related health field preferred; or Bachelors degree with demonstrated successful experience in clinical program administration and/or other health related discipline. + Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; Management experience preferred. + Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word and Excel. Excellent oral and written communication skills. + Excellent organizational and analytical skills. + Financial analytic skills preferred. + A minimum of five to seven years of applicable experience in health care delivery is required. + 3 years in health care insurance preferred. + Candidate must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills. + Must be able to interact and negotiate with all facets of the wellness industry. + Excellent planning, documentation, organizational, analytical and problem solving skills are also required. + Candidate must demonstrate leadership and project management skills. + Ability to map re-engineering processes to positively impact productivity in terms of timeliness and accuracy. + Ability to work with and take direction from Senior Management. + Desire to continue upward progression within organization.
