Project Engineer – Low Earth Orbit (LEO) Job Description An excellent opportunity exists within the Space Systems engineering organization for a Senior Project Engineer in Low Earth Orbit projects. This position involves driving Integrated Product Development Team efforts in the development and delivery of environmental and life support systems, as well as active thermal control systems for both LEO and DOD & Science value streams. The role requires direct communication with customers through daily tag-ups, weekly meetings, and quarterly meetings, ensuring alignment with both internal and external expectations. Responsibilities + Manage the planning, execution, and tracking/reporting of all technical aspects of engineering projects. + Lead efforts of a cross-functional engineering team, acting as the key interface between program management and engineering. + Perform control account manager duties, including cost, scope, and schedule management, and understand Earned Value analysis of cost and schedule metrics. + Coordinate and lead team meetings, capture and drive action item closures, and provide updates to management and leadership. + Evaluate technical and programmatic tasks critically, manage scope and tasks across the engineering team, and operate within a matrix environment to manage and identify resource needs. + Serve as the technical point of contact for all aspects of the business, including supply chain, operations, and manufacturing. + Support preventive and corrective action planning and implementation, as well as driving failure investigation activities. + Drive issue resolution closures due to assembly, test, and procurement challenges. + Develop basis of estimates (BOE's) and lead engineering planning and completion of proposal activities.
