The Project Manager role for Leica Biosystems requires a strong grasp of design control and regulatory processes, technical fluency, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments to achieve program objectives. You will also contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the PMO. This position is part of the Project Management department for the Digital Pathology Business Unit located in Vista, CA and will be on-site. As part of the Project Management team, you will report to the Manager, Program Management, responsible for independently leading cross-functional teams to deliver product and process development projects from initiation through closure. They will align technical execution with business strategy, proactively manage risks, and ensure that deliverables meet project timelines, scope and quality standards.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:• Independently lead end-to-end cross-functional projects across hardware, software, and applications.• Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with business strategy.• Identify and mitigate project risks; escalate issues with appropriate countermeasures to stakeholders.• Present project status and deliverables to the Product Planning Group (PPG) and other stakeholders.• Maintain project documentation in compliance with Leica’s quality management system.
The essential requirements of the job include: • Strongly prefer Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience); Preferably in science or engineering.• Prefer minimum of 4 years’ experience managing projects in a regulated or medical environment.• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, navigate roadblocks, and deliver complex projects on time.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: • Minimal, up to 5% of the time.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:• Knowledge of design controls and regulatory requirements for medical devices.• Hands on experience in system development lifecycle with a background in one or more disciplines (e.g. mechanical, electrical, systems, science, or software development).• An ability to proactively identify project roadblocks and implement countermeasures on time to prevent project delays.
The salary range for this role is $110k – $140k. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
