Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Property Accountant to support the financial operations of a hotel or resort in Honolulu, Hawaii. This role involves managing accounts payable and receivable, overseeing payroll processing, preparing budgets, and producing accurate financial reports. Responsibilities:
• Oversee the full accounts payable and receivable cycle, including analysis, payments, and reconciliations.
• Manage and maintain the fixed assets ledger, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with industry standards.
• Reconcile accounts and identify discrepancies, implementing solutions to maintain accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with local and state tax regulations, including timely filing and reporting.
• Implement and monitor internal controls to improve financial procedures and reduce risks.
• Assist with the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans to support organizational goals.
• Support audits by compiling necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.
• Participate in ad-hoc financial projects and provide insights to improve processes.
Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with a focus on accounting.
• A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in property or hospitality accounting, with a strong emphasis on detail-oriented work.
• Strong knowledge of financial principles, including GAAP, budgeting, and cost control.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Experience with payroll processing and fixed asset management is highly desirable.
