We have an exciting opportunity for a Propulsion and Fluids Tests and Projects Intern to join the team

** We are actively searching for qualified candidates for this potential opening; however, we do not have assurance at this time when the position will be finalized and opened. Because we have strong reason to believe the position will be approved soon, we are proceeding with identifying qualified candidates and conducting interviews. **

This is a temporary role not to exceed 12 weeks.

The Propulsion and Fluids Tests and Projects Intern in the JSC ESTA Division you will\:

Work in a team environment, and report to project lead or project manager for technical support, task assignments, and processes. Plan and execute hardware troubleshooting to investigate mechanical and electrical failures with hardware. Generate essential paperwork and documents for tasks assigned, such as Task Performance Sheets (TPS), Discrepancy Reports (DR), and Detailed Test Procedures (DTP), as needed. Interact frequently with other JETS teams and departments. - Perform job functions based on pre-established guidelines or instructions. - Perform other duties as required. *

Requisition Qualifications\:

Currently enrolled at an accredited university. Completed at least 45 credit hours. Minimum of 2.8 GPA. Must be a current student enrolled in an engineering degree program. Highly motivated team player with the ability to adapt to a dynamic environment and complete assignments as required. Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and management at all levels. Capable of preparing written documents and delivering verbal presentations in various meetings. Ability to visualize and work with complex mechanical and electrical systems, collaborating with others to solve problems as part of a team. Skilled in organizing and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines and schedules with minimal supervision. Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.

Requisition Preferences\:

Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering Degree seeking student. Experience using common hand tools for assembly, disassembly, and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical systems. Proficiency with mechanical design software such as CREO, AutoCAD. Experience in troubleshooting hardware anomalies and conducting failure analysis Skilled in procedure development.

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Equipment and Machines

Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).

Attendance

Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.

Other Essential Functions

Professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
