Overview:
Jacobs Engineering is seeking a qualified professional to serve as the Shop/Factory Inspection Coordinator during the Construction of the multimillion-dollar DC Tillman Advanced Water Purification Facility Project. The successful candidate will be stationed at the project site in Van Nuys, California, and will lead the "Yellow Tagging" process for equipment and materials used in the construction effort.
Key Responsibilities:
Submittal Tracking: Monitor and track the review of equipment/material submittals by the City of Los Angeles Bureau of Contract Administration (LA BCA) to identify those requiring Shop/Factory Inspections.
Inspection Request Coordination: Develop and submit "Inspection Agency Request Letters" for equipment/materials identified by LA BCA as requiring inspection, and manage the approval process.
ITP Development Support: Coordinate with equipment/material suppliers and the Independent Inspection Company (on behalf of LA BCA) to develop the "Inspection and Test Plan" (ITP) for each item, and ensure timely submission and approval.
Pre-Fabrication Meeting Coordination: Schedule and facilitate "Pre-Fabrication" conference calls between equipment/material suppliers, LA BCA, and the Independent Inspection Company ahead of inspections.
Shop/Factory Inspection Oversight: Collaborate with equipment/material suppliers and the Independent Inspection Company to address any inspection-related issues that may arise during the Shop/Factory Inspection process.
* Experience in construction project coordination.
* Strong organizational and communication skills.
* Comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
* Demonstrates strong independent judgement.
* Demonstrates strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks to ensure timely completion.
* Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders including the Owner, the equipment/material suppliers, and the inspection teams.
* Familiarity with inspection processes, submittals, and document tracking systems in the Construction Environment (e.g., Autodesk Construction Cloud, e2020) is a plus.
